How to run a
philpott fundraiser?

The backbone of Philpott Children’s Tennis is the support that we receive from the tennis community. Clubs in all shapes and sizes have helped us grow to the organization that we are today serving over 8,000 participants from underserved neighbourhoods annually.

Why should your club run a Philpott Fundraiser? Here are some of the benefits:

  • To give back to the sport we all love and to help introduce tennis to kids who may never have had the chance to play.
  • To develop a sense of community at your club.
  • Fundraisers can be a lot of fun and help club members meet new friends at the club.
  • To help engage your junior members in giving back to the community. This helps develop leadership skills and a sense of community.
  • Because it’s the “right thing to do”!

There are a lot of different ways you can help get kids on the court and give them “a place to play”! Below are a couple of fundraising activities that you can organize at your club.

Tennis-a-Thon

This is a great program to engage your junior program participants (ages 6 to 18). The concept is simple, book the courts off on a Saturday afternoon from 2pm to midnight and let the kids do the rest.

Participants collect pledges from family and friends and play tennis from 2pm until midnight with many of the participants breaking their curfews for the first time in a great cause.

They run, hit, swing, serve and have a smashing good time until the midnight hour. When they leave, their legs are a little wobbly but their heads are held high. Teaching our young players that giving back is what we do.

The Philpott Racquet Drive

Nothing makes a child happier than to receive his or her own tennis racquet. This piece of equipment allows the child to feel a connection to the sport of tennis and more importantly practice on their own or with family and friends.

During the month of May, we are asking for new and gently used racquets, and most especially junior racquets, to be collected and donated to our Philpott children.  To activate this program at your club, please have a club ambassador connect with us to get started.

Philpott Campers say THANK YOU!

I am very grateful for the funding that has got me here. I truly hope that this support will always be here for as many people as possible to participate in this program that will forever allow more and more people my age to play and learn tennis.

One of the campers this year told me that he never played tennis before. He said that his favorite sport is now tennis. After I showed him my certificate I received as a child, he mentioned that one day, he wants to become an instructor.”

Past Philpott Camper/Volunteer
When I become a Coach, it's not going to be because of the money. I want it to be for a charity like Philpott. I never thought there would be a program like this to fund me. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to become the best of me and teach kids!”

Full Circle with Philpott:

"Without tennis we would not be the same people that we are today. Thus, we believe that tennis should be shared with other kids who have not been given this amazing opportunity. By starting this 100/100/100 initiative, we want to help Philpott and give back to the game we enjoy so much."

Co-Founder of 100/100/100 Challenge
"For us playing tennis has become the best thing that has ever happened to us and it is one of the main passions in our lives. It has taught us discipline, perseverance, and hard work. It has also given us an opportunity to pursue our dreams."
Spencer Keung
Co-Founder of 100/100/100 Challenge
“I love tennis. It’s an important part of my life. I want to help other kids experience the joy I get from tennis. I also have my eye on volunteering for Doug Philpott Foundation as soon as I’m old enough. I love working with little kids and being able to expose them to tennis would be awesome.”
